- Chairman of the Board, Excelleris Technologies Inc. A medical information technology company that created the largest integrated patient and physician diagnostic database in Canada. Under Nigel’s leadership of the board, Excelleris pioneered the connection of over 5,000 BC physicians and more than 10,000 patients to on-line medical records.
- Chief Strategic Officer, LifeLabs Inc. Nigel worked with internal and external stakeholders to create and execute a common long term vision and strategic direction for Canada’s largest private medical diagnostics company.
- Senior Vice President and GM, LifeLabs BC. Nigel led the strategic and tactical directions of a large provincial medical laboratory company. He was responsible for 900 operational staff, 90 branch locations throughout BC and 2 state-of-the-art medical laboratories. He quickly Improved operational productivity by 48%; reduced errors by 67% and set the organization on a growth path with a three pillar strategy including External Relations, Business Development and Operational Excellence.
- Chief Information Officer, MDS Inc. Nigel led the linkage of strategic vision and the deployment of Information Technology. He drove the integration of disparate information systems, eliminated legacy systems and identified annual savings in excess of $10 million.
- Vice-President, IT, MDS Diagnostics. Using his multi-decade experience in software engineering and computer operations, Nigel led a North American IT team for a medical diagnostics business unit operating in many cities throughout Canada and the United States. He directed a fast-action “tiger team” through a full business assessment which resulted in a 50% increase in Operating Income.
